Hungry for Music Notes
Summer Newsletter

|
|
We are already halfway through the year and Hungry for Music is on a pace that will help us reach over 3,000 music instruments distributed in 2025.
Last year we distributed 3,006. The break down so far this year is as follows:
Instrument Total: 1,414
# of States: 36
# of International Programs: 8
# of After-school Programs: 52
# of Non-profits: 30
# of School Programs: 45
# of Social Workers: 17
We are excited for our continued growth and are very grateful for everyone who supports us with their time, musical instruments, and financial contributions.
Hungry for Music looks forward to continuing our support of music education by providing more kids with the gift of a music, giving them an opportunity they otherwise would not have.
Over the last several years, we have been fortunate to support teenaged musicians with a financial need, who are pursuing a music education degree, with an upgraded instrument.
Hungry for Music recently gifted an aspiring young jazz musician, Christina, with her very own trumpet…a Bach Stradivarius! The following video is of her music teacher, Mr. Anderson, presenting Christina with the trumpet. She attends Osceola County School for the Arts in Kissimmee, Florida and was accepted into the jazz program at Florida State University. |

Hungry for Music is happy to support Christina’s music dream and we look forward to continuing our support of young musicians who are pursuing music education in college. We will be partnering again with the D’Addario Foundation to distribute more of these instruments very soon. Stay tuned!
May you always find comfort in music,

“Here are the first pictures I took of Iris with her new violin. I surprised her, she was very emotional and couldn't believe it was her new violin! She said, 'I've never owned my own instrument before, it is so bright and resonant.' She immediately started working on her repertoire.
We are excited to record a performance video for you later this summer. Thank you for everything!”

Distribution & Pickup Trips |

Hungry for Music makes close to a dozen distribution and pickup trips across the United States annually.
In May, a distribution trip was made through parts of the South and we delivered 128 instruments to programs in Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Louisiana, Texas, and Tennessee.
We also collected several dozen donated instruments on the trip.
